Happiness comes from aligning what you do to who you are.

It is said that happiness is a choice, but what if you are struggling to find your happiness, or you are feeling out of balance and stressed?

This could be a sign that your outer reality and inner world are not totally in alignment. Perhaps the way you spend your time and live your days is not entirely consistent with the way the real you would want to invest that time to bring you happiness in life.

The question that begs to be answered is “How do you know what the real you wants?” Your ability to answer this million-dollar question is the secret to finding more happiness in life, even in the busiest of times.

Finding happiness matters!

Here’s how you can get started:
If you are feeling stressed and out of balance, then start by thinking about the possible source(s) of these feelings.  Reflect on where these feelings of imbalance or stress could be coming from. Once you identify the source, plot a path away from your current reality into one that invites daily moments of happiness and experiences into your life.

If you are uncertain of the source of your feelings, these 7 questions will help you to narrow down the results.

Here are 7 Questions to Help You Find Happiness in Your Life:
  • Is what you do each day aligned to your purpose, your passion, your strengths?
  • Are you able to bring your creativity into the work that you do?
  • Are your belief systems held intact or are they challenged?
  • Are your values intact or do you find them compromised?
  • Are you fully utilising your skills and expertise?
  • Are you growing and developing yourself through your work?
  • Are you challenged and stretched in your thinking?
Pay attention to yourself

Answering these questions will create a window into the areas that limit or contribute to your happiness. For every question that you answer a “No” or “Maybe” to, set yourself at least one action that you could take right now to move you a step closer to a “Yes”. Pay attention to these areas and actively seek ways to turn the No into a Yes.

Every question that yields a “Yes” response,  not only highlights where your inner world and outer reality are in alignment, but also shines a light on what you should take notice off, appreciate, celebrate and experience more happiness around.

The routes you take to finding happiness in your life is a journey of discovery and I hope that this article has served as a small guide for your journey.
