During the past week I have come to realise how important the concept of self-care is and how difficult it is to remember to remember you.
Caring for yourself is feeding yourself everything you need to nurture all of you - your body, mind and soul. We often focus on caring for the body through healthy eating, exercise or maybe even going for a massage. What we neglect, however, is the part of us that we cannot see.
Mind and soul
Our mind and soul need self-care just as much as our bodies do. Delving into spirituality, connecting to a higher purpose, growing in generosity is great food for the soul. But what can we do for the mind?
The mind holds the secret to unleashing new experiences, expanding our potential and bringing joy into our lives. Neglecting the mind shows up in various ways including feeling uneasy, unsettled, unhappy or unmotivated.
Feed your mind with positivity, discover your true self, stretch and grow your limits, live authentically and you will be practising self-care for your mind too.
Self-care begins with remembering to remember you!
Self-care is giving the world the best of you,
instead of what’s left of you.
